Thomas Carbou
A rare 8-string guitar player, Thomas Carbou is a sound explorer. Flirting at times with the stigmata of traditional music, folk and song, his universe that describes itself as electro-jazz unfolds without resistance, out of time and barriers.
Throughout the years, Thomas participated in numerous international projects in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Vietnam, Japan, the United States and Canada, which led to as many fruitful artistic collaboration with Moran, David Binney, Nate Wood, Jim Black, Dave Liebman, Glen Velez, Thomas Morgan, Dan Weiss and many others.
" He is an exceptional guitarist. He imposed himself on the Montreal Jazz scene with his eclectism and his experimental boldness on an 8-string guitar " — Stanley Péan, Radio-Canada
" Since his arrival in Montreal back in 2003, guitarist Thomas Carbou has been very active locally. His 8-string acoustic guitar was specially designed to fit his hybrid technique, focused on his very rich harmonic and melodic needs. " — Alain Brunet, La Presse
